Real Timelines by Home Size, Condition and Team

Quick answerA one-bedroom apartment may start at about three on-site hours. A two- or three-bedroom apartment with meaningful buildup often needs two cleaners for about four to five hours. A three- or four-bedroom house or townhouse commonly needs three cleaners for about four to five hours. These are planning ranges, not completion guarantees: priorities, buildup and selected extras determine the actual visit.
Deep cleaning time is not determined by bedroom count alone. The fastest way to plan accurately is to combine four facts: the property size, its current condition, the number of cleaners and the customer’s priority list. Leronzo offers both timed Deep Cleaning packages and a custom cleaning calculator, and those two booking methods answer different needs.
Deep Cleaning Time at a Glance
The ranges below reflect real operating experience in Toronto and the GTA. They describe elapsed time on site; the amount of labour is the team size multiplied by the visit length.
| Property example | Typical team | On-site range | Main variables |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-bedroom apartment | Package-dependent | From ~3 h | Bathrooms, kitchen, selected extras |
| 2–3-bedroom apartment | Usually 2 cleaners | ~4–5 h | Buildup, layout, personal items, priorities |
| 3–4-bedroom house or townhouse | Usually 3 cleaners | ~4–5 h | Bathrooms, stairs, basement, detailed fixtures |
| Strongly soiled full bathroom | 1 cleaner on the room | ~1–1.5 h | Soap scum, mineral deposits, grout and fixtures |
Important: “three cleaners for four hours” equals 12 person-hours of labour. More cleaners can reduce elapsed time, but the visit contains more total labour.

Why Two Similar Homes Can Need Different Timelines
Square footage is only the starting point. Deep cleaning becomes slower when residue must be loosened, agitated and removed in repeated passes, or when the team must work carefully around many objects and detailed surfaces.
- Bathrooms: mineral deposits, soap scum, grout lines and layered residue can keep one cleaner in a full bathroom for about 60–90 minutes.
- Kitchen: grease on the cooktop, backsplash and lower cabinet areas often takes more passes than routine dust or fingerprints.
- Edges and details: baseboards, door frames, upper ledges, vent covers and decorative light fixtures require close handwork.
- Access: cleaning inside a refrigerator, behind or beneath an appliance, or around many personal items adds handling time.
- Layout: stairs, separate floors, a basement or long travel paths slow the movement of tools and supplies.

Timed Package or Custom Calculator: Which Estimate Is More Useful?
Timed package Choose a team and a visit length — for example, one cleaner for three hours or two cleaners for three hours. The team works through the agreed priorities during that window. The package buys a defined amount of labour; it does not promise that every room and optional task will be completed.
Custom calculator Choose exact rooms, zones and extras, such as a kitchen, bathroom, inside oven or inside refrigerator. The quote is built around the selected scope instead of a standard time package. This is useful when the customer wants a specific list completed rather than the broadest possible progress within a fixed visit.

How Leronzo Structures a Multi-Level Deep Clean
A multi-level home is normally cleaned in a controlled sequence instead of sending cleaners to unrelated floors. The objective is to leave complete zones behind as the team moves, even if the customer has booked a limited amount of time.
- Confirm the priority rooms and any must-complete extras before work begins.
- Start with the upper-floor bathrooms and bedrooms, then complete dusting, vacuuming, ledges, doors and baseboards in that zone.
- Work downward through stairs and hallways rather than leaving multiple floors partially finished.
- Move into the main-floor kitchen and living areas after the upper zone is complete.
- Use any remaining time on lower-priority details that the customer has approved.
This sequence protects the customer’s priorities. If a three-hour visit ends before every optional task is reached, at least the completed floor or zone looks finished instead of the entire home looking half-done.

A Four-Hour Deep Cleaning Visit in a Toronto Townhouse
The customer booked a three-hour package and added one more hour. Three cleaners completed the visit in exactly four hours. The scope included four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bath and a basement game area, plus dusting and vacuuming through the agreed zones.
The bathrooms were handled early because they carried the most time-sensitive detail work. Decorative vanity lights had visible dust on shaped glass elements, so the team used small detailing brushes instead of a quick wipe. The laundry-area space also needed focused dust and soil removal with brushes. These are small areas in square feet, but they are large time drivers.
With about 15 minutes remaining, the team wiped accessible first-floor window glass and patio-door glass. Full window-frame cleaning was not part of that add-on. This is a useful example of how a timed package works: the highest priorities are completed first, then the team uses remaining minutes on approved secondary items.

Elapsed Time Is Not the Same as Labour Time
A larger team can finish a property sooner on the clock, but the job contains more total labour. This is why team size matters when customers compare visit lengths.
| Team configuration | Elapsed visit | Total labour |
|---|---|---|
| 1 cleaner × 3 hours | 3 hours | 3 person-hours |
| 2 cleaners × 3 hours | 3 hours | 6 person-hours |
| 2 cleaners × 5 hours | 5 hours | 10 person-hours |
| 3 cleaners × 4 hours | 4 hours | 12 person-hours |
These examples show arithmetic, not package promises. The selected priorities and the condition of each area still control what can be completed.
How to Choose Enough Time
- Use three hours as a starting point for a compact one-bedroom apartment when the priority list is focused.
- Plan additional time when inside-appliance work, appliance movement or several detailed extras are important; one substantial extra can add roughly an hour.
- For a two- or three-bedroom apartment with heavy bathroom or kitchen buildup, plan around two cleaners for four to five hours.
- For a three- or four-bedroom house or townhouse, three cleaners for four to five hours is a practical planning range. A fourth cleaner may reduce elapsed time when speed matters.
- Share the must-complete rooms before arrival. A shorter priority list produces a more predictable result than asking the team to touch every room briefly.

Deep Cleaning Time: Frequently Asked Questions
Can a one-bedroom apartment be deep-cleaned in three hours?
Often, yes, when the priority list is focused and access is straightforward. Inside-appliance work, heavy bathroom buildup or many detailed extras may require more time.
How long does a two-bedroom apartment take?
A practical planning range is about four to five hours with two cleaners when the apartment has meaningful buildup. A maintained unit or narrower scope may take less.
Does adding cleaners always reduce the price?
No. More cleaners can reduce elapsed time, but total labour increases. Two cleaners for three hours provide six person-hours; three cleaners for four hours provide 12 person-hours.
Why can a bathroom take 60–90 minutes?
Mineral deposits, soap residue, grout, fixtures and detailed lighting may require pretreatment, brushing and repeated passes rather than one quick wipe.
Will a timed package finish the whole home?
Not automatically. It provides a defined team and time window. The team completes the confirmed priorities in order and continues while booked time remains.
When is the calculator better than a timed package?
Use the calculator when completion of specific rooms and extras matters more than a general time window. It creates the quote around the selected scope.
